This was the last of the Big Game program covers for many years not to feature the Bear and the Indian. Aside from this tie and a narrow loss to Southern Cal, the only other blemishes on the Stanford record were losses to the Olympic Club and a curious one game entity known as YMI, which may have meant Young Men Ineligible for college admission. There were plenty of these young men on plenty of college teams in the so-called amateur era---John Wayne once starred in a movie about this widespread practice.
