IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Due to a series of changes in the makeup of conferences, HistoricFootballPosters.com has been required to remove many of the posters which we had previously offered for sale. This game is one of the posters affected.

Hopefully this will be only a temporary setback. You can contact us at sales@historicfootballposters.com if you wish to inquire about any prospects of reinstatements for the upcoming holidays. You will receive a prompt and personal reply. We thank you for your patience, and more than share your frustration.

On a typically nasty northeastern winter's day, shouldn't we be playing this one somewhere else? Amazingly enough, over 36,000 hardy souls braved the elements and were treated to the equivalent of a Clemens versus Santana pitcher's duel, and the honors of being the first Liberty Bowl champion was bestowed upon the Nittany Lions, in what was only their third bowl game ever. There would be a few more to come. This game also had the distinction of being Coach Bear Bryant's first bowl game with the Crimson Tide team that he was to become so identified with over his long and illustrious career.
