IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Due to a series of changes in the makeup of conferences, HistoricFootballPosters.com has been required to remove many of the posters which we had previously offered for sale. This game is one of the posters affected.

Hopefully this will be only a temporary setback. You can contact us at sales@historicfootballposters.com if you wish to inquire about any prospects of reinstatements for the upcoming holidays. You will receive a prompt and personal reply. We thank you for your patience, and more than share your frustration.

This was the home opener for the Florida State football program, following a visit to Cumberland College in Tennesse the previous week. At the time of this game, the whole concept of Florida State "football" was so young, that the team hadn't yet been given a nickname. The choices were among "Crackers," "Seminoles," "Statesmen," "Tarpons," and the "Fighting Warriors."

Well, we guess you know who won. But for the lack of an extra 111 votes from the student body, it would have been the Florida State Statesmen. Go think up a poetic battlecry for that!
