Since 1967 it's been known as Wallace Wade Stadium in honor of the legendary Blue Devil coach, but it's the same gridiron battlefield that was dedicated on this October 1929 day, and it still stands proudly today in its 80th year. You can clearly see the construction of the Duke Chapel and the beginnings of the original West Campus in the background, then as now forming the nucleus of what every objective observer---even a few of them from Chapel Hill---acknowledges is the nation's most beautiful university.
